Interactive Digital Media Showcase

I'm a brand new Interactive Digital Media student. Today I went to check out the graduating class's thesis projects. LOTS of VR projects. One student group made a virtual tour of Trinity. That caught my attention as I had been trying to do something similar for the Orlando Science Center. The tour of Trinity was really cool, they had a website version and a phone version. I wish I had had this my first week, as I found the campus very confusing (Trinity doesn't have great signage). I'll be disappointed if the University doesn't do anything with the project. There was just one con, really. They used moving video is part of the tour and it made me feel really sick. I think in VR it is very hard to do cut-scenes and cinematography because the person isn't actually moving. So I personally would have used a static camera instead of a dollying camera.

But anyway, I asked them what program they used to create it, and they said the game engine Unity!!

Time to teach myself how to use it and slog through some tutorials, eh?
